A Spray Tower (also known as a Wet Scrubber or Spray Scrubber) is an air pollution control device that removes particulate matter, gases, and fumes from industrial exhaust streams using a liquid (typically water or chemical solutions). It operates by spraying the contaminated gas with a fine mist, allowing pollutants to be absorbed, neutralized, or trapped in the liquid phase.
Spray towers are widely used in industries requiring gas cleaning, acid gas removal, and particulate control, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for emission treatment.

Polluted gas enters the tower from the bottom or side and flows upward.
Scrubbing liquid (water or chemical solution) is atomized into fine droplets via high-pressure nozzles and sprayed downward from the top/middle of the tower.
Counter-current flow (gas ↑ vs. liquid ↓) or co-current flow (same direction) maximizes contact efficiency.
(3) Purified Gas & Liquid Discharge
Cleaned gas exits the tower after passing through a demister (to remove entrained droplets).
Contaminated liquid is drained for recycling or wastewater treatment.
