Photocatalytic reaction:
The internal structure of the photocatalytic reactor usually includes ultraviolet lamps (with wavelengths of 185nm or 254nm) and carriers loaded with photocatalysts (such as honeycomb ceramics, metal meshes, etc.). When the exhaust gas or water body passes through the device, ultraviolet light irradiates the surface of the photocatalyst, causing the electrons to undergo a transition and form electron-hole pairs. The holes react with water molecules or hydroxyl groups adsorbed on the catalyst surface to generate ·OH, while the electrons combine with oxygen to form superoxide radicals (·O2). These radicals have extremely strong oxidizing ability and can selectively decompose organic pollutants (such as VOCs, benzene series, hydrogen sulfide, etc.) into CO2 and H2O.
